Education and Training
Tennessee Youth Ballet has three proper divisions of classical dance training. A Master Syllabus for every level of our dance school is defined and followed by the staff to ensure the continuity of each childs dance education. Classes are graded according to age for beginning levels, however, further advancement depends on application, artistic ability, dance development, and physical qualifications. Private dance lessons are available for students in the Middle and Upper School in Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Floor Barre. Placement is at the discretion of the staff.
The Lower School is for the youngest of dancers. Beginning at two years of age through the age of seven lessons are available in Gentle Release, Dance, Music, and Story Time, Creative Movement, Kindergarten Dance, Kindergarten Tap, Preballet, Prejazz, and Pretap.
The Middle and The Middle and Upper School offers Ballet, Jazz, and Tap lessons with six academic levels of training to students who are eight years old through professional levels of dance.
